201 E. Main St.
Christiansburg, VA 24073

This Southwestern Virginia B&B graces the hills of Christiansburg. The house's lavish facade hides an inground heated pool in the backyard, with gazebo, rose garden and fish pond.

After a good workout in the pool, you can settle into comfort in a poster bed in large bedrooms, including a "Gone with the Wind" bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed. Rooms are decorated with works of talented local artists and a collection of "VIB" bears. All five guest quarters offer TV/VCRs, heart pine floors, original light fixtures, and private baths. A fax machine and computer are also available for business travelers.

Fireplaces warm the two parlors and the entire facility has central air-conditioning. The formal library converts easily to a conference room that can accommodate 10 people. Innkeepers Rocco and Barbara restored and decorated the house without altering it. Guests call it "relaxed elegance."

Your hosts cook up a traditional southern breakfast with homemade biscuits, country ham, cheese grits, eggs, silver dollar pancakes, fresh fruit, local jams, jellies, and apple butter, and Gevalia® Coffee and tea. Godiva chocolates are also available in the rooms.

Tea time is from 5-6 p.m. by reservation and the cost is $10/person. Summer guests are served on the porches, humming with rockers and swings.

Two blocks away is the Montgomery Museum and Lewis Miller Regional Art Center. Nearby Virginia Tech is a premier depository of American Civil War history, including compiled service records of Virginia soldiers, plus thousands of books, letters and artifacts. Virginia Tech is also the home of noted Civil War historian, Dr. James I. (Bud) Robertson.

Outdoor activities include canoeing or rafting the Little and New rivers, bocce ball on Evergreen's lawn, fishing Claytor Lake, golf and tennis, the Appalachian Trail and George Washington-Jefferson National Forest. At Evergreen, we encourage bridge groups and you can also try your hand at the concert grand piano.
