Named after Giacomo Paladino, born in Santa CroceDe Magliano, Italy on May 31, 1911 to Carlo and Albina (nee Rosati) Paladino. He immigrated to America in steerage on the ship the "Martha Washington" at age 14. He completed 3 years at Hutchinson Central High School and upon the death of his parents was compelled to quit school and work to support his two younger brothers. He was self taught as chief radar technician for the Federal Aviation Administration at Buffalo Airport, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific in World War II and died October 9, 1961, leaving four daughters, nephews and nieces. He taught humility, perseverance, respect, character, and integrity. He was our father and our uncle.
